Wandle Runners

Running on Wandsworth Common

Loving the great outdoors

Running is about enjoying the gorgeous green spaces (in summer) and quiet streets (in winter) of south-west London.

We think running should be free, but we also believe in supporting the spaces we love.

That’s why our membership fee is only £5 per year, all of which is then donated to the local conservation charity of your choice. In 2014 we raised nearly £200 for our recipient charities. Click here to see proof of our contributions.

Runners agreed to support the same charities in 2015. They are:

- London Wildlife Trust (restoring Farm Bog on Wimbledon Common, one of the last remaining lowland bogs in London)

- National Trust (managing Morden Hall Park: meadows, rose garden, meandering river, innovative forms of renewable energy: heaven)

- Wandle Trust (organising regular clean-ups of the rapidly-improving River Wandle, a biodiversity corridor from Croydon to Wandsworth)

The membership fee covers the calendar year and remains the same regardless of the date that you join. Nominations for 2016 charities are welcome.

We are supporting a campaign for the Wandle Trail to be extended through Earlsfield, giving us more running space along the River Wandle. We have recently signed a letter to local councillor, Andrew Judge, which can be viewed here.
